Atacama Crossing (Chile) 2007 course shaping up

The RacingThePlanet Team will be visiting Chile in mid-April 2007 for a site visit.  The course this year may cross the entire width of Chile - a first-ever crossing of Chile by foot.  Notes from the Field will be posted soon on this exciting development.  Click here to visit the Atacama Crossing website.

 

Gobi March (China) 2007 largest field to date

In June 2007, almost 200 competitors from over 20 nations will meet in the ancient city of Kashgar for the Gobi March.   The RacingThePlanet Team has just returned from another course scouting trip and final touches are being put on what promises to be a unique and spectacular expedition for all involved.  The live event site will be launched soon with a full list of competitors.  Click here to view the Gobi March website.

 
4 Deserts In the News
  • InvestHK will be profiling RacingThePlanet this June on Bloomberg TV as part of the 10th anniversary of the Hong Kong handover.

  • Masashi Fujisaki will be holding a photo exhibit of his work from the Sahara Race (2006) July 30 to August 5 at the headquarters of the leading television broadcaster in Japan, NHK Broadcast Center, Tokyo. Open admission.

  • A book titled "The Power of Team" will be published soon profiling Team Illinois, the 4 Deserts Champions team made up of Nancy Burrows, Joel Burrow and David Kuhnau (the only team in the world to have completed the 4 Deserts).  This inspiring book tells of their two year quest to finish all 4 deserts as a team and will be available soon on the RacingThePlanet shop.

New in the Shop: RacingThePlanet Gaiters and Backpack

A brand new gaiter designed by competitors in the 4 Deserts will be available in the online shop by April 5 - pre-orders are now being accepted. This gaiter is the best on the market with a reinforced toe and side to prevent tears. The gaiter comes with a velcro strip and tube of super glue to adhere to the outside of shoes. RacingThePlanet events in Hong Kong and Shanghai this month

Join the RacingThePlanet team in Hong Kong or Shanghai this month.  On April 18 at 7pm, the "blue frog" in Shanghai will be holding an event titled "RacingThePlanet for Operation Smile".  60RMB for a drink and chance to hear about the 4 Deserts and Operation Smile's work in China (all proceeds from the evening will go to Operation Smile).  Click here to view the Shanghai blue frog website.
